A scorcher, a thunderbolt, a belter, or a wonder goal, are the best superlatives that can describe debutant Adrian Silla’s goal after a well executed right footed long range shot from outside the box.

It was a debut delight for Silla who was making his first appearance for CAPS since joining the club from Highlanders FC on a two-year-deal in February.

The midfielder powered Makepekepe to a narrow 1-0 win over ZPC Kariba at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Introduced as a second half substitute, Silla, who was labelled a “problematic child” by Highlanders after quitting the club, scored the only goal of the match in the 80th minute.

Peeling away from his marker, after dribbling past him with his left foot, the 26-year-old took his shot with the right foot rippling the top right corner of the net.

Makepekepe fans rose to their feet as the Llyod Chitembwe coached side managed back to back wins at home.

The Green Machine defeated Manica Diamonds 2-0 at the same venue in their season opener three weeks ago.

Reacting to his debut goal Silla said: “It always feels good to score on your debut. CAPS United is a big team, it excites to score on your first game.”
