The news was confirmed by the Bulawayo giants on their social media pages on Tuesday.
“We can confirm that McKinnon and Mason Mushore have extended their stay at the club until December 2026.”
On their arrival at Highlanders from Division One side Golden Eagles, the Mushore brothers played for the club’s developmental side, Bosso 90.
They quickly impressed and earned promotion to the senior team.
McKinnon was the first to be called up, joining the senior squad in July 2022 while his elder brother, Mason, followed suit a few months later.
An attacking midfielder, McKinnon impressed last season, particularly in the first half under coach Baltemar Brito, playing a key role in the team’s remarkable 19-game unbeaten run.
On the other hand, Mason, a defensive midfielder, also showed his potential towards the season’s end.
This was after he got some game time following coach Brito’s squad rotation.
He displayed glimpses of quality that suggest he could become a regular starter under the new coach, Kelvin Kaindu, if he replicates his form.
