Macheke joins the Gem Boys as a free agent following his recent release by South Africa’s DStv Premiership side Moroka Swallows.
The 27-year-old forward returns home after spending one year plying his trade across the Limpopo (South Africa).
This was after leaving Zimbabwe’s top flight league outfit Black Rhinos to join Maritzburg United in January 2022 after a successful trial stint at the club.
Despite impressing during trials, Macheke, who had signed a two-year-deal with the Team of Choice, failed to live to expectations.
With 12 months left on his contract, in February 2023, Macheke was sold to Swallows after spending one season at the Pietermaritzburg based side.
However, it seems his type of play did not convince Swallows who released him recently leading to Manica move.
The Midlands State University (MSU) graduate who is a holder of a Bachelor Of Arts Honours Degree in Development Studies, could make his debut on Sunday against Caps United.
