NEW signings Perfect Chikwende and Jarrison Selemani were among the scorers when FC Platinum beat Masvingo United on a 4-1 (2-0; 2-1) aggregate in preseason friendly matches played on 4 March 2023.

The returning Chikwende scored a goal in one of the games while Selemani also scored once in the other.
Chikwende rejoined FC Platinum having been to Tanzania’s Simba SC in 2021 and recently Bulawayo Chiefs while Selemani joined the champions from Cranborne Bullets.
Other Pure Platinum Play names on the scoresheet were Juan Mutudza and Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya.
The game vs Masvingo was FC Platinum’s first public match ahead of the club’s Castle Challenge Cup final vs Bulawayo Chiefs on 11 March 2023 at Mandava stadium.
An increase in the number of goal-scorers will no doubt excite head coach Norman Mapeza who goes into the season with a chance to win FC Platinum’s fifth title in a row.
FC Platinum were the Premier Soccer League top scorers in the 2021/22 season with 52 goals, six more than second best Ngezi Platinum’s 46.
Soccer star Walter Musona scored 14 while Ngwenya netted 10.
