“SELEMANI was brilliant today,” said FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza on the winger’s debut.

He was central to FC Platinum’s season opening 2-0 win.
The club’s new number 26 had just produced one of his best ever performances; slaloming between rivals Bulawayo Chiefs’ defenders before sending in an appetising assist to goalscorer Panashe Mutimbanyoka, five minutes into Saturday’s Castle Challenge Cup final.
He was not done; on 55 minutes Selemani delivered home an inch-perfect volleyed goal as Mutimbanyoka repaid his earlier assist.
A promising crowd, which watched the match at Mandava stadium, Zvishavane could not resist giving him a standing ovation when he was replaced by reigning soccer star of the year Walter Musona on 65 minutes.
FC Platinum made it four consecutive Castle Challenge Cups, despite a year’s break because of Covid-19 regulations.
The tournament is played between league champions and winners of Zimbabwe’s premier cup tournament (Chibuku Super Cup).
Mapeza won FC Platinum it’s fourth title last term while Amakhosi beat Herentals in the Chibuku Super Cup final at Barbourfields, Bulawayo.
